The beginning of July and we have finally had some decent rain. The creek is flowing more briskly, but all our sandbagging and repairs have held up quite well. Most of the plants we have put in have established themselves quite nicely. I won't do much more planting now until the heavy rains have passed, likely leading into early/mid spring.
The water level is much higher now than when we did all the sandbagging. My plan is eventually to cover this entire area with ferns and climbing plants, which will help further secure the sandbags. The ferns to the right are fishbone ferns - eventually I will pull these out and replace them with less invasive species.
A rainy day in Kalamunda!
My kangaroo paw has flowered! He seems to be doing quite well :)
